Umicore is wereldleider op het vlak van materiaaltechnologie en recyclage van edele metalen. Het Belgische bedrijf ontwikkelt, produceert en recycleert technologisch hoogwaardige materialen voor onder meer zonnecellen, satellieten, herlaadbare batterijen, LED-toepassingen en katalysatoren. Het wereldwijd opererend concern stelt meer dan 11.000 mensen te werk die samen zo’n 25 miljard aan omzet genereren.

Duurzame waarde creëren is de allesomvattende strategische ambitie van Umicore (Materials for a better life). Met hun doorgedreven ‘Let’s go for zero’-aanpak loopt Umicore dan ook al jaren voorop op het gebied van ESG. Duurzaamheid zit als het ware in hun DNA. In het geïntegreerde jaarverslag streeft Umicore naar volledige openheid over haar impact en de waarde voor de samenleving.

Sinds 2 jaar maakt Umicore gebruik van de software van Tangelo om het geïntegreerde rapport digitaal en in eigen beheer te produceren.

TD Cascade kreeg de opdracht van Umicore om een basisontwerp te ontwikkelen voor het verslag in lijn met de branding van Umicore. Bijzondere aandacht gaat daarbij uit naar de opmaak van tabellen, grafieken en diagrammen en de vormgeving van cruciale infographics en illustraties.

Daarnaast nam TD Cascade op vraag van Umicore de leiding over alle content implementatie en aansturing van Tangelo. TD Cascade zorgde ook voor de ontwikkeling van diverse landing pagina’s voor de digitale versie van het jaarverslag.

In its integrated annual report, Umicore is committed to full disclosure of its impact and value to society. For 2 years Umicore has been using Tangelo software to produce the integrated report digitally and in-house.

TD Cascade was initially tasked with developing a basic design for the report in line with Umicore's branding. Then, at Umicore's request, the visualization of crucial data was further optimized. Special attention was paid to the layout of tables, graphs and diagrams and the design of crucial infographics and illustrations such as Umicore's value creation model.

In a second phase, TD Cascade supported the implementation of all layout and design assets in Tangelo using templates and custom coding.
